These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Lights (the “App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Lights is a Bible study application providing access to public domain scripture texts, reference works (including Strong’s Concordance, Webster’s Dictionary, and Bible Commentary), historical study materials, and personal study tools including a journal, bookmarks, and video downloading from Internet Archive.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Free Trial and Purchases

New accounts receive a 3-day free trial with full access to the App. After the trial ends, continued access to premium features requires a one-time Lifetime Premium purchase. This is a single payment, not a subscription, and does not automatically recur or renew. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your payment card details.

All sales are final except as required by applicable law or at our discretion. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us using the information below.

User Content

Content you create within the App, including journal entries, bookmarks, highlights, and video recordings, remains yours. By using the App, you grant us the limited right to store and process this content solely to provide the App’s functionality to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its underlying systems
• Use the video download feature to circumvent copyright protections or download content you do not have the right to download
• Attempt to resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or its content

Intellectual Property

The scripture texts, historical documents, and reference works included in the App are in the public domain. The App’s software, design, and original compiled content are owned by us and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (data storage), and Internet Archive (video content). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services, which are governed by their own terms.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
